Loved how Ms Andersen began Max's dislike for Chloe's work ethics and, he even, claimed his disappointment in her ability to show up for work, despite his secret crush on her. My dislike for Max started...but was soon annulled when Max finds out the truth. But his cynical thinking... every third Wednesday had me chuckling thinking of how unknown answers can cause everyone to think the worse. The way Ms Andersen creates and builds their friendship was superb. I am a huge believer in character connections and Max and Chloe definitely have that.
Max's sympathy for Chloe's condition warmed my heart. No one, especially a woman, likes to have a man tend to her needs the way Max moved in to assist. Plus finding her a job, or was it creating one? Either way, Max was a knight in shining armor.This was a quick afternoon read and was thoroughly enjoyed. Everyone needs an afternoon of romance and love... and Ms Andersen delivers both with Breaking the Cycle.
