Review ~ Once Upon A Montana Christmas by Alanna Lucas

Blurb:
Miss Eva Kenward does not want to spend another Christmas alone.  Leaving her life behind in England, she journeys to America in search of an uncle.  Her hopes and dreams for a new life fade when she finds herself without resources in Montana.

With no money and no acquaintances, she is forced to turn to the rudest man she has ever met for help.  As everyone on The Ranch prepares for the upcoming Christmas festival, Eva loses herself and her heart in the delights of the season.

Hunt has been betrayed by one too many women in his life.  When a beautiful young woman shows up on his doorstep with claims that the baby in her arms is his kin, he suspects she has ulterior motives.  But when Miss Kenward finds herself stranded after a hotel fire, he reluctantly agrees to help her.  Although he tries to keep his distance, Hunt is drawn to the enticing woman and her enthusiasm for the holiday season.  What starts as a business arrangement, quickly turns into an affair of the heart.  Can they overcome hardships of the past and rejoice in the Christmas season?

Review:
Beautifully written!  Three letters to describe Ms Lucas' historical holiday western romance? OMG!

Ms Lucas has a way of bringing the reader into her story with unbelievable descriptions. My favorite one that brought back memories of living in the country was this, "The wraparound veranda would probably be most pleasant on warm summer evenings, and the sound of a nearby babbling creek would soothe the soul after a long days work." I sat for a moment, reliving quiet spring mornings and the sounds of nature that surrounded me.

The development of the story and love and passion between Eva and Hunt was incredible. No quick passion. No doubt in the readers' minds that this could/would happen. Ms Lucas built the connection with superb delight.

I would love to see, and recommend to Ms Lucas, to make this a great series. Play off other townspeople.  While there were really no secondary characters from town, I believe Ms Lucas could accomplish this task.

I highly recommend this short read to anyone in love with the old west and historical western romance.
